Internet :
It is a worldwide system of computers networks. A network of
networks in which users at any one computer can, if they have permission, get
information from any other computer(and sometimes talk directly to users at
other computer).
In 1957, the U.S. Government formed the Advanced Research
Projects Agency(ARPA), a segment of the
department of defense charged.
In 1969, ARPA established ARPANET, the forerunner of the
internet.
WWW:- (World Wide Web)
- The world wide web came into being in 1991, thanks to developer Tim Berners-Lee and other European
laboratory for particle physics.
It is an information system where document other web
resources identified uniform resource locator(URL) such as www.google.com
Browser :- It is the basic software you need in order to
find, retrieve, view, and send information over the internet
Ex: Google chrome, safari, Mozilla Firefox, opera
Download: -To copy data from a remote computer to a local
computer
Upload :- To send the data from a local computer to remote
computer
Email :- (Electronic mail) – is the exchange of computer
stored messages by telecommunication.
HTML:- (Hyper Text Markup Language)-The coding language used
to create documents for use on the world wide web.
HTTP:- (Hyper Text Transport Protocol) – The set of rules for
exchanging file(text, graphic images, sound, video and other multimedia
files)on the world wide web.
Search engine :- A web server that collects data from other web servers and puts it into a database like index, it provides links to pages that contain the object of your search.
Ex:- Google.com, yahoo.com, bing.com
URL(Uniform Resource Locator) :- The internet address. Ex:- www.google.com
Domain:- A domain contains a group of computers That you can
be accessed and administrator with common set of rules. Common top-level domains
are:
.com- Commercial enterprises
.org – organization site(non-profit, etc)
.in- India websites
.edu – educational sites(universities, schools)
.gov – government websites
.name – Personal websites(.ajay)
.mil – Military websites
.us-United states websites
.jp – Japan
.au-australia
.info – commercial and personal
.int – organizations established by international treaty
